WHO WE ARE
The Sokoto State Public Procurement Agency (the Agency) was established on the 2nd of April, 2012 under the Sokoto State Public procurement Law, 2011 (the Law), The objectives of the Agency are to ensure probity, accountability and transparency in Public Procurement throughout Sokoto State. The Agency is therefore charged with the responsibility of formulating Policies and guidelines relating to Procurement in Sokoto State as well as certifying all Procurements prior to, during and after the awards of Contract. It’s scope of operation shall Include the State Government, Local Government Councils/Development Authority and all procuring entities in the State. The Law is based on the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) model, which is a properly regulated procurement system benchmark on international best practice.

A LAW TO ESTABLISH THE SOKOTO STATE PUBLIC PROCUREMENT AGENCY AND FOR CONNECTED PURPOSES
THE SOKOTO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY enacts as follows:
Requirements from various customers are consolidated in order to invite bids for larger quantities and obtain better conditions.
International competitive bidding primarily amongst companies located in ECOWAS countries and, in certain cases, also non-ECOWAS countries.
SSPPA policy is based on the traditional principles of public procurement.
